I've been following Chris Muir's 'Day by Day'  cartoons for years now. When I discovered them about '06 or '07, I went to cartoon number one and read them all straight through to the then current day. Took about a week, what with one thing and the other happening in my normal daily life. Been a fan ever since.

Probably one of the very best political cartoon strips in America today, easily deserving of the award he won recently.

I am proud to hold my -- always well-thought out and reasonable, of course  B^)  opinions strongly. Been true for most of my long life. My reading is eclectic, and I've been at it since I was three. The more I read, the more I realize that my conservative, classical liberal/libertarian opinions are and always have been correct. Leftists, Progressives, Fabian Socialists, Marxists, Communists, Fascists, call them what you will, have been a scourge to civilization for centuries.

The Mayflower Compact was the first serious attempt at socialism on this continent. It failed because human nature being what it is, too many people figured out that they, personally didn't have to hunt or farm because some other 'up at the crack of dawn' types would do all the work and would be forced to share the fruits of their labor and ingenuity. The first winter was hard, the second year saw the demise of that socialist utopia and a new and improved Compact.

Perhaps they figured out that maybe, just maybe, St. Paul had been right -- If you don't work, you don't eat.

It has been a while since I posted on my blog but as we are in the thick of a radically new sort of presidential campaign, I will try to post more frequently. For those who want to correspond, I think you can contact me through one of the tabs in the sidebar of the page, or simply post a comment as in all of Google's blogspot blogs.

I am on twitter as @d_m_wilson but I don't post there all that often either. I subscribe to Twitchy and often reply to interesting tweets, but I am not a prolific twitterer.

Be well, all and have a pleasant and as prosperous a new year as you can manage in our abgefichte American society.
